A. 
There shall be three classes of building sewer permits:
(1) 
Residential or mixed.
(2) 
Commercial service.
(3) 
For service to establishments producing industrial wastes.
B. 
In any case, the owner or his agent shall make application on a special form furnished by the town. The permit application shall be supplemented by any plans, specifications or other information considered pertinent in the judgment of the Board of Selectmen or its authorized representative.
C. 
An inspection fee, in the amount determined by the Board of Selectmen, for residential, commercial or industrial building sewer, as well as the applicable sewer entrance fee (as described under Article II), shall be paid to the town at the time the application is filed. Additional inspection charges may be assessed in accordance with § 256-41B of this article.
D. 
Permit applications are to be obtained weekdays at the Department of Public Works office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
A. 
Permits to lay sewers and drains will only be issued to licensed drainlayers in the Town of Belchertown as described under Article VI, Drainlayers.
B. 
Permits are not transferable.
C. 
Permits shall be subject to revocation if any of the rules or regulations contained herein are violated.
D. 
If work is not completed within six months from issuance of the permit, the permit becomes void.
E. 
Permit must be obtained for repair work to existing sewer services.
Requests for inspection of sewer service connections to be installed shall be made 48 hours before the proposed date of installation. Requests shall be made at the Board of Selectmen's office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All connections must be inspected and approved by the Board of Selectmen or its designated agent before the trench is backfilled.
A. 
Inspections will be made only during the normal working hours of the Board of Selectmen or its designated agent.
B. 
A charge in the amount of the actual cost to the town will be made for any inspections made outside these normal working hours (Subsection A) and/or for any additional inspections required as a result of faulty workmanship or nonconformance with the requirements contained herein. An additional charge based on actual costs will also be assessed for inspection of leakage tests.
