The owner of every existing building or structure used for commercial
or industrial purposes and the owner of every existing building or structure
used as a place of public accommodation or assembly, located on a street or
road in the Township in which is located a public water main or in which a
public water main shall hereafter be placed, shall, within 90 days after the
effective date of this chapter or within 90 days after the date on which such
public water main is made available to said building or structure, connect
each such building or structure to said public water main.
The owner of every building or structure hereafter to be constructed
or acquired which is to be used for commercial or industrial purposes and
the owner of every building or structure hereafter to be constructed or acquired
which is to be used as a place of public accommodation or assembly, located
on a street or road in the Township in which is located a public water main
or in which a public water main shall hereafter be placed, shall, within 90
days after the date on which such public water main is made available to said
building or structure, connect each such building or structure to said public
water main.
Connections with public water mains required by the provisions of this
chapter shall be accomplished by the owner of each building or structure to
which this chapter has application, at the cost and expense of such owner.
Said connection shall be to all water distribution lines within or adjacent
to the structure or building which may be used for potable purposes.
The provisions of this chapter shall not be applicable to water systems
or portions thereof which are used exclusively for nonpotable purposes, such
as industrial processing, fire control, lawn sprinklers and similar uses.
Where such nonpotable uses occur, each faucet or water outlet shall be clearly
identified to warn potential users of its nonpotable nature. The provisions
of this chapter shall not be applicable to large-volume systems having a capacity
exceeding 200 gallons per minute where the user demonstrates a capability
to monitor and assure the potability of a private water system to the satisfaction
of the Bridgewater Township Board of Health.
No occupancy permit shall be issued for any new construction within the Township to which the provision of § 210-2 of this chapter is applicable and which is located on a street or road in the Township in which there is an existing public water main, until such time as said new construction has been connected to said public water main.

Any person, association or corporation who shall violate any of the
provisions of this chapter or fail to comply therewith shall, upon conviction,
be liable to a fine of not more than $500. Each and every day such violation
continues shall be deemed a separate and distinct violation.
