A willful violation of any provision of this chapter including, but not limited to, the willful filing with the Rent Control Board of any material misstatement of fact, shall upon conviction, be subject to penalties as provided in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty, of the Code of the Township of Freehold. A violation affecting more than one leaseholder shall be considered a separate violation as to each leasehold.
In recognition of the fact that rent control
is an area that is ever expanding and developing according to court
decisions and interpretations, it is intended that this chapter be
interpreted consistent with the developing law of rent control and
the Board in applying this chapter shall do so consistent with the
current status of the law.
A.
This chapter shall take effect immediately upon passage
and publication as required by law, and the Rent Control Ordinance
as amended shall remain in full force and effect. If not extended,
they shall terminate. Any provision of any Township ordinance inconsistent
herewith is repealed.

B.
All provisions of the Freehold Township Rent Control
Ordinance currently in effect which are not amended, modified or supplemented
by the within amendatory ordinance shall be unaffected hereby and
shall continue in full force and effect.
