The provisions of this Article shall apply except
when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or
official traffic control device.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XII (§
215-60), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§
215-61), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIV (§
215-62), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XV (§
215-63) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§
215-64) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVI, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVII (§
215-65) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVIII (§
215-66) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XVIII of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVIII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XIX (§
215-67) except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
The locations described in Schedule XX (§
215-68), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XXI (§
215-69), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.

A. Vehicles shall be allowed to remain standing on any
street or public highway within the corporate limits of the Village
of Croton-on-Hudson, except when otherwise prohibited by this chapter
or any other chapter of the Croton-on-Hudson Code, and except when
snow accumulates to two or more inches.

B. Upon an accumulation of two or more inches of snow, no vehicle of
any kind shall be allowed to remain standing on any street or public
highway until the snow has ended and the road has been cleared of
snow. Vehicles must be relocated to off-street locations and may be
parked on the Village right-of-way area directly in front of the vehicle
owner's residence, except that vehicles may not be parked on any part
of a street, sidewalk, or curb. All vehicles in violation of this
subsection are subject to towing. Vehicles parked in the Municipal
Building parking lot, Asbury Methodist parking lot, Merwin Oak parking
lot, and South Harmon parking lot must be moved within 12 hours after
snow has ended.

C. Special hardship permits. In cases where there is
no off-street location or right-of-way area which can be used, the
Village Manager shall, upon written application on forms to be supplied
by him and verification of the applicants special hardship, issue
an annual permit granting permission to park motor vehicles on the
street or public highway except for certain streets designated by
the Village Manager, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of
the Department of Public Works, provided that such parking conforms
to all other laws and regulations. No permit parking shall be permitted
on those streets designated by the Village Manager. Hardship permit
holders shall move their vehicles no later than 12 hours after the
snow stops.

D. Overnight parking. Overnight parking in certain sections of the Municipal
Building parking lot is prohibited during snow events as designated
by signage.

A. Fire lanes, fire hydrants and handicapped parking areas. Any person
who violates the parking regulations of the Village pertaining to
fire lanes, parking within 15 feet from fire hydrants and designated
areas for handicapped persons shall be liable to a fine of not less
than $280.
B. Any person who violates the regulations as prescribed in §
215-29, Seasonal parking, shall be subject to a fine of not less than $100.
C. Any person who violates the regulations as prescribed in §
215-28, Bicycle lanes, shall be subject to a fine of not less than $50.
D. Any person who violates the parking regulations in the Croton Harmon
Train Station shall be subject to a fine of not less than $40.
E. Any person who violates the regulations as prescribed in §
215-20.1, Restrictions on idling of motor vehicles, shall be subject to a fine of not less than $35.
F. Any person who violates any other of the parking regulations of the
Village shall be liable to a fine of not less than $25.
G. Parking fines shall be subject to doubling upon failure to pay within
30 days after the date of issuance; shall be subject to increase by
another $20 upon failure to pay within 60 days after the date of issuance;
and shall be subject to increase by another $20 upon failure to pay
within 90 days after the date of issuance.
