For the purposes of this chapter, the Village is hereby divided into the following classes of districts:
R-40
One-family residential; minimum of forty thousand (40,000) square feet per lot
R-20
One-family residential; minimum of twenty thousand (20,000) square feet per lot
R-20C

One-family residential; minimum of twelve thousand (12,000) square feet per lot
R-8
One-family residential; minimum of eight thousand (8,000) square feet per lot
R-6
One-family residential; minimum of six thousand (6,000) square feet per lot

Multifamily residential, group
R-A
Multifamily residential, apartment house

Hotel

The aforesaid districts are hereby established as the designations, locations and boundaries thereof are indicated on the map entitled "District Map," which map, properly identified, is on file in the office of the Village Clerk and is hereby adopted as a part of this chapter insofar as it indicates said designations, locations and boundaries.[1]

In construing the District Map, the following rules shall apply:
A. 
Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately following the boundary lines of the Village or of streets, railroads, parks or parking fields therein, such lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.
B. 
Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately following plot lines on a filed map and are not more than 10 feet distant therefrom, such plot lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.
C. 
In unsubdivided land or where a district boundary divides a plot in single ownership, the location of such boundary, unless the same is indicated by dimensions shown on the District Map, shall be determined by the Building Official by use of the scale appearing on said map.
