The purpose of this article is to change the terms of office of the Superintendent of Highways and Town Clerk pursuant to statutory authority set forth in § 24 of the Town Law, § 10, Subdivision 2(ii)a(1), of the Municipal Home Rule Law and § 23, Subdivision 2e of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
The term of office of the Highway Superintendent shall be increased from two to four years effective with the next general election for that office, November 1979.[1]

The term of office of the Town Clerk shall be increased from two to four years effective with the next general election for that office, November 1979.
This article shall be effective immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State after approval thereof by the voters of the Town voting thereon upon a proposition to be submitted at the general election on November 7, 1978.[1]
