It shall be unlawful to manufacture, store or sell fireworks, as defined
in § 270 of the New York State Penal Law, in the Village of Piermont.
A.
It shall be unlawful to use, discharge or cause to be
discharged, ignited, fired or otherwise set in action any fireworks in the
Village of Piermont unless a permit is issued by the Board of Trustees of
the Village of Piermont. Prior to the issuance of a permit, the Village Clerk-Treasurer
shall refer the application for a permit to the Fire Commissioners, the Fire
Inspector, the Building Inspector and the Chief of Police for their written
reports to the Board of Trustees.
B.
Fees may be established by resolution of the Board of
Trustees. If a fee is required, no permit shall be issued until the fee has
been paid.
Any fireworks that remain unfired after the display is concluded shall
be immediately disposed of in a way safe for the particular type of fireworks
remaining.
The Board of Trustees shall seize, take, remove or cause to be removed,
at the expense of the owner, all stocks of fireworks offered or exposed for
sale, stored or held in violation of this chapter.
