The general election in the Village of Scotia, New York, for the election of all elective Village offices shall be held and conducted biennially in the fall of each even-numbered year hereafter, coincident with the general fall elections held in accordance with and as provided by the federal election laws and the Election Law of the State of New York and any amendments thereto changing or varying the date of general fall elections.
Notice of election and publication of notice shall be made pursuant to § 15-104 of the Election Law.
The official year of the Village of Scotia, New York, shall begin at 12:00 noon on the first Monday in December and end at 12:00 noon on the first Monday in December thereafter, commencing on the first Monday in December 1982.

A. 
Mayor, four Trustees and a Justice of the Village Court shall be elected at the general Village election for a term of four official years.
(1) 
Mayor. The Mayor shall be chosen at the biennial election held in each even-numbered year which cannot be evenly divided by four.
(2) 
Trustees. Two Trustees shall be elected at each general Village election.
(3) 
Justice of the Village Court. A Justice of the Village Court shall be elected at each election in which a Mayor is chosen.
B. 
The term of office of the Mayor and each Trustee hereafter elected pursuant to this chapter shall be for four official years, commencing at 12:00 noon on the first Monday of December following their respective elections and terminating at 12:00 noon the first Monday of the fourth December thereafter.
C. 
The term of each Justice of the Village Court hereafter elected pursuant to this chapter shall be for four official years, commencing at 12:00 noon on the first Monday of December following his election and terminating at 12:00 noon on the first Monday of the fourth December thereafter.[2]
