No person shall conduct or operate a motel, auto court, tourist lodge
or other facility for the overnight accommodation of transient automobile
travelers without first having obtained a license therefor.
Application for a license shall be made to the Village Clerk-Treasurer,
giving the location of the facility, names and addresses of the owners and
operators, the number of rooms offered, the maximum number of persons to be
accommodated and such other information as may be required.
Upon approval of the application and receipt of the required annual
fee, as established by the Village Board of Trustees, the Village Clerk-Treasurer
shall grant the license.
Before an application may be approved, the Village Clerk-Treasurer shall
ascertain that the following requirements are met.
The following regulations shall be observed at all times:
A.
Sanitation. The building and premises shall be maintained
in a clean and sanitary condition and accumulations of waste materials shall
be removed at least once each week.
B.
Noise. No noisy or tumultuous conduct shall be permitted
which in any way tends to disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.
C.
Illegal activities. No illegal, improper or immoral activities
shall be permitted within the premises.
The Police Department shall inspect the premises from time to time and,
if violations of the requirements and regulations are found, the license may
be suspended or revoked at any time, for cause.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter
shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than two
hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen
(15) days, or both.
