A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and the Township of Shaler, being marked and designated as the "International Property Maintenance Code, 2009 Edition," as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Property Maintenance Code of the Township of Shaler in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and for the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use, and the demolition of such existing structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Property Maintenance Code on file in the office of the Township of Shaler are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in §§ 171-2 and 171-3 of this chapter.

The following sections of the International Property Maintenance Code, 2009 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, are hereby amended and revised:
A. 
Section 101.1 (page 1, second line). Insert: "Township of Shaler."
B. 
Section 103.5 (page 2, fourth line). "Such fees for activities and services as set by resolution of the Board of Commissioners."
C. 
Section 111.1 (Means of Appeal, page 6, third line). Insert: "Shaler Township Municipal Appeals Board."
D. 
Section 112.4 (page 7, fifth line). Insert: "$300 or more than $1,000. Each twenty-four-hour period during which failure to comply continues shall constitute a separate offense. Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to preclude the Township to seek other relief or avail itself of any remedy that may be at law or in equity to prevent continuing violations of the terms of this chapter."
E. 
Section 302.4 (page 11, second line). Insert: "Six inches."
F. 
Section 304.14 (page 13, first line). Insert: "May 1 to October 31."
G. 
Section 602.3 (page 21, fifth line). Insert: "October 1 to May 1."
H.
