Township of Shaler, PA Article V Sewer Tap-in Permits

§ 181-15 Definitions.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated in this article. Where terms are not defined, they shall have their ordinarily accepted meanings or such as the context may imply.

AUTHORITY

The Girty's Run Joint Sewer Authority.

BUILDING PERMIT

A building permit to be issued by the Township of Shaler for:

A. New constructions.

B. Conversion of a single-family residential dwelling unit into a multifamily unit.

C. The conversion, enlargement or alteration of a structure that would require additional plumbing and increase the water usage in the structure.

PERSON

Any individual, agent, firm, corporation, partnership or association.

§ 181-16 Sewer permit or clearance certificate.

A person requesting the municipality to issue a building permit for a property located within the Girty's Run Watershed and subject to the Authority's jurisdiction must submit a valid sewer tap-in permit or clearance certificate issued by the Authority along with his application for the building permit. No building permit, as the term is defined herein, shall be issued without the sewer tap-in permit or clearance certificate.

§ 181-17 Advising authority.

In the event that a building permit is issued pursuant to this article, the Authority shall be notified and a copy of the application and permit forwarded to the Authority.
