The purpose of this article is to provide that every building mentioned herein shall have installed an approved smoke detector, so as to provide the residents of this Borough with safe housing and work places.
This article as to multiple dwellings shall and hereby does adopt by reference and incorporate herein the provision of P.L. 1967, c. 76, popularly known as the "Hotel and Multiple Dwelling Law," and the Regulations for Maintenance of Hotels and Multiple Dwellings, N.J.A.C. 5:10-19.11, as amended. As to all affected buildings, this article adopts by reference and incorporates herein, P.L. 1975, c. 217, popularly known as the "State Uniform Construction Code Act," and the Regulations for the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.7, as amended, and the BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code, Fifth Edition, 1981, as amended.
The local enforcement officers hereby appointed are the Property Maintenance Inspector and the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Buildings affected by this article shall within 90 days of the effective date hereof submit to the Fire Marshal the following:
All fees and penalties shall be as set forth in the statutes and regulations adopted and incorporated in § 136-7 of this article.
