There is hereby created the position of the
General Code Enforcement Officer who shall be appointed by the Mayor
with the advice and consent of the Council.
A.
The General Code Enforcement Officer for the Borough
of Palisades Park shall specifically enforce all noncriminal, non-construction-code
ordinances enacted by the borough, including but not limited to sound
enforcement and enforcement of Planning Board and Board of Adjustment
and construction code certificates of occupancy and such other ordinances
as may be assigned to him or her from time to time by the Mayor and
Council.
B.
The General Code Enforcement Officer shall have the
power to issue complaints on behalf of the borough to any applicable
agency to enforce and penalize violators.
The salary of the General Code Enforcement Officer
shall be as established by the Annual Salary Ordinance.[1]
The General Code Enforcement Officer shall serve
from January 1 to December 31 of each year or until the successor
is appointed.
