The Police Justice of the Village is hereby authorized to establish
a Violations Bureau to dispose of offenses in relation to traffic violations.[1] Such Bureau shall be in charge of such person or persons and shall
be open at such hours as the aforesaid court designates.

A.
Generally. A Traffic Violations Bureau so established
shall be authorized to dispose of violations of traffic laws, ordinances,
rules and regulations when offenses shall not constitute the crime of speeding,
reckless driving or the commission of a misdemeanor or felony by permitting
a person charged with an offense, within the limitations herein stated, to
answer, within 10 days, at the Traffic Violations Bureau, either in person
or by written power of attorney, by paying such fines as are permitted by
statute and imposed by the Police Justice and, in writing, waiving hearing
in court, pleading guilty to the charge and authorizing the person in charge
of the Bureau to make such a plea and pay such fine in court.
B.
Rights and duties of violator. All persons charged with
traffic violations, as herein provided, are hereby declared entitled to all
of the protection and subject to all the limitations and requirements imposed
by the General Municipal Law, §§ 371 and 372.
The Traffic Violations Bureau, as hereby authorized and established,
shall comply with all of the provisions of the aforesaid statute and, in addition,
shall keep a record of all violations in conformity with § 373 of
the General Municipal Law.
