A.
The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village
of Freeport hereby finds that:
(1)
There exists in the Incorporated Village of Freeport
places, sites, structures and buildings of special historic significance
or which, by reason of famous events, the antiquity or uniqueness
of architectural construction and design are of particular significance
to the heritage of our Village.
(2)
The conservation, protection and preservation of such
places, sites, structures and buildings is a public necessity and
will promote the public health, safety and general welfare.
B.
Now, therefore, the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated
Village of Freeport hereby declares that the purpose of this chapter
is to accomplish the conservation, protection and preservation of
such places, sites, structures and buildings.
