[HISTORY: Adopted by the North Hempstead

the provisions of 3-23-1965, which made the State Building Construction
Code applicable to the town. Amendments noted where applicable.]
This chapter shall be known and may be cited
as the "Building Code of the Town of North Hempstead."

The Town Board, recognizing the Executive Law
of the State of New York, Article 18, New York State Uniform Fire
Prevention and Building Code Act, Title 19 NYCRR Part 1203 , Uniform
Code: Minimum Standards for Administration and Enforcement, finds
that public health, safety, welfare and the good order and governance
of the Town will be enhanced by the adoption of Title 19 – Department
of State, Chapter XXXIII, Subchapters A through C, as the applicable
Building Code of the Town of North Hempstead.
This code shall apply throughout the applicable
jurisdiction of the Town of North Hempstead.
A.
The administration and enforcement of the Building Code shall be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2 of the Code of the Town of North Hempstead.
B.
The Commissioner of the Department of Building Safety
Inspection and Enforcement shall be responsible for the administration
of the Building Code.
C.
The Commissioners of the Department of Building Safety
Inspection and Enforcement and the Department of Public Safety shall
be responsible for the enforcement of the Building Code.
