No person shall permit brush, grass, shrubs, weeds or rubbish to grow or accumulate on any premises within the town in such manner as to constitute a fire hazard.
The owners of such land are required to cut, trim or remove from the land owned by them such brush, grass, shrubs, weeds or rubbish within ten (10) days after notice thereof by the Town Clerk requiring such cutting, trimming or removal.
If such owner defaults in complying with the notice by the Town Clerk, the Town Clerk may cause such cutting, trimming or removal to be accomplished, and the expense thereof shall be assessed against such land and constitute a lien and charge thereon until paid, satisfied or otherwise discharged, and shall be collected in the same manner as other town charges.
Notice to so cut, trim or remove such brush, grass, shrubs, weeds or rubbish, mailed to the owner of such lands addressed to his last known address shall be sufficient service thereof.
Any building or structure that may be or at any time hereafter become dangerous or unsafe in the opinion of the Chief Building Inspector by reason of damage by fire shall, unless made safe and secure as directed by the Chief Building Inspector, be taken down and removed from the premises when and as ordered by the Town Board pursuant to the provisions of the Town Law.
