Pursuant to Act No. 247 of 1968, known as the "Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code,"[1] as amended, supplemented and in effect, there is hereby created a Township Planning Commission, which shall have all the powers and duties conferred upon it by law and other powers vested in it by ordinance.

The Township Planning Commission shall consist of not less than three nor more than seven members, as the Board of Commissioners may from time to time determine by resolution. The members shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners and shall serve without compensation, except that they shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in carrying out their duties as members of the Township Planning Commission.
In addition to the powers and duties conferred upon said Commission by law, the Township Planning Commission shall make an annual report to the Board of Commissioners, showing its transactions and recommendations. Said report shall review in substance all transactions and recommendations made during the year and contain any new recommendations which the Commission might wish to include.
