[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Pleasant Prairie 5-5-1997 (§ 9.19 of the 1988 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Includes any property, other than real estate, which is acquired in the course of living in or maintaining a dwelling unit.
RUMMAGE\GARAGE SALE
Any sale of personal property conducted on any residentially zoned property, as defined by Chapter 420, Zoning Ordinance, within the Village, irrespective of what the sale is designated as by the seller.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person or party to sell other than personal property at a rummage/garage sale.
B. 
It shall be unlawful for any person or party to hold or permit to be held a rummage/garage sale on more than six calendar days, whether or not consecutive, within any calendar year.
C. 
It shall be unlawful for any person or party to hold or permit to be held a rummage/garage sale during the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on any day.
A. 
Signs are allowed on the parcel having the sale in accordance with § 420-75H of Chapter 420, Zoning Ordinance.

B. 
Off-premises temporary rummage/garage sale signs are permitted only if in compliance with any local, county or state regulations pertaining to signage.
C. 
All signs shall be removed within 24 hours of the close of the rummage/garage sale.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter, or any regulation, rule or order made hereunder, shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter 1, § 1-4, of the Code of the Village of Pleasant Prairie.
