A. 
A license shall be required for all dogs 6 months of age and older. Application for such license shall be filed with the Department. The application shall state the name and address of the owner and the name, breed, color, age, sex and rabies inoculation status of the dog. The license fee as established by law shall be paid at the time of making application; thereupon, a license and a numbered license tag shall be issued to the applicant.
B. 
All kennel licenses and pet shop licenses shall be issued for 1 year commencing on the day of issuance. Dog licenses shall be valid on the day of issuance until the date of the expiration of the dog’s rabies vaccination.

License fees shall be established as set forth in Chapter 157 of this Code for sterilized and unsterilized dogs, dogs owned by senior citizens, kennels, pet shops, pet shops with domestic pet grooming services, and domestic pet grooming businesses.

A. 
The County shall annually issue a license to the owner of a dog when the owner presents proof of current rabies vaccination and pays the license fee. In addition, the County shall provide a tag which shall be made of metal and shall not be more than 1 inch in length, and they shall have the serial numbers corresponding with the numbers on the license. The tags furnished to kennel owners shall have the word "kennel" noted thereupon, and each kennel license holder shall be entitled to 10 identical tags. If any tag is lost, it shall be replaced by the County upon application by the person to whom the tag was issued upon production of a license and a fee established by law. The owners of the kennel licenses shall use their issued tags only upon dogs owned by them.

Tags shall be worn by dogs at all times.

The licensing requirements of this chapter shall not apply to any dog belonging to a nonresident of the County and kept within the boundaries of the County for not longer than 30 days.
