As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TRAMPOLINE
Any trampoline, rebound or recoil tumbling mat or net, bounce-mat or bounce-net or any similar rebound or recoil device or apparatus of any type of construction or installation designed for use or used by any person for bouncing, springing, acrobatic tumbling, gymnastic activity or any other amusement, recreational or athletic purpose.
TRAMPOLINE CENTER
A place where one or more trampolines is provided and maintained for use for a fee.
TRAMPOLINE SUPERVISOR
An individual of the age of 18 years or over, of good moral character and physical fitness, trained and experienced in the use of and performance upon a trampoline.
Each trampoline and trampoline center shall be constructed and installed in accordance with the following requirements:
A. 
Each trampoline shall be constructed level with the ground measured from the inside dimension of the frame, and the minimum distance between trampolines shall be:
(1) 
Within an extension laterally of the end lines of the frame of the trampoline: six feet.
(2) 
Within an extension longitudinally of the side lines of the frame of the trampoline: five feet.
(3) 
Upon an extension of the diagonal between opposite corners of the trampoline: two feet.
B. 
Any ceiling, roof or other covering overlaying any trampoline shall be not less than 15 feet above the mat or net of the trampoline.
C. 
The perimeter of all of a trampoline center shall be enclosed with a fence.
D. 
All trampolines equipped with springs shall have a cord of sufficient strength running crosswise through all of the springs of the trampoline so as to prevent any of the springs from being ejected or thrown into the air in case of accidental disconnection of the springs from the trampoline.
E. 
The space between trampolines and surrounding such trampolines shall be leveled with uncrushed wellrock or river gravel of 3/8 inches or less.
It shall be unlawful for any person to construct, install, maintain or operate a trampoline center; or for any individual to use any trampoline or to be in or upon any trampoline center other than in accordance with the regulations prescribed in this chapter and as follows:
A. 
No individual shall use any trampoline or be in or upon any trampoline center unless adequately supervised by the operator of a trampoline center or any trampoline supervisor.
B. 
No child under the age of six years shall be permitted or allowed to use any trampoline at any time.
C. 
No more than one person shall be permitted to stand, lie or be upon any trampoline at one time, except that this provision shall not apply to the operator of a trampoline center or any trampoline supervisor.
D. 
No person shall use any trampoline while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or when not in a condition to use the trampoline in a safe manner.
E. 
Any and all such persons using or performing upon any trampoline in any trampoline center shall accede at all times to the direction and control of the operators or supervisors of the trampoline center.
F. 
No person shall use a trampoline while smoking, eating or drinking.
Any trampoline center, when open to public use, shall at all times be under the immediate and continuous supervision, direction and control of one or more trampoline supervisors. The required number of such supervisors is prescribed as follows:
A. 
Twelve trampolines or less: one supervisor.
B. 
Each additional 12 trampolines, or fraction thereof, in operation: one additional supervisor.
No trampoline center shall be maintained or operated until there is in full force and effect, covering the operation of the same, a policy of public liability and property damage insurance issued by a duly authorized insurance carrier and insuring such operations with minimum public liability limits of $1,000,000.
Except as provided herein, violations of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty.
