Fuel oil shall be received, stored and conveyed by means of fixed liquidtight
equipment.
Fuel oil storage tanks shall be provided with means for venting and
shall be installed and maintained so as not to be a hazard to the premises
served or the surrounding property.

Filling, emptying and venting of fuel oil tanks shall be by means of
fixed piping. Pipes to underground tanks shall be pitched toward tanks. Terminals
of fill and vent pipes shall be located outside buildings at a safe distance
from building openings. Fill pipes not in use due to natural gas or other
fuel conversion shall be either completely removed from the building or filled
with cement and a sign posted on the building above the fill pipe with one-inch
lettering stating "No Fill."
Automatically operated boilers and furnaces using fuel oil shall be
provided with remote control to stop the flow of oil during a fire or other
emergency.
