This article shall be known as the "Local Law Granting Real Property Tax Exemption to Certain Disabled Homeowners of the Town of Brighton."
It is the purpose and intent of this article to implement Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York ("RPTL") § 459-c and to establish the maximum eligibility level for purposes of RPTL § 459-c, Subdivision 1(b) and (5).
The Town hereby implements RPTL § 459-c, pursuant to the provisions of RPTL § 459-c, Subdivision 1(a), to the extent and upon the terms and conditions as set forth in this article.

For purposes of § 459-c(5)(a) of the Real Property Tax Law, the maximum income eligibility level of the Town of Brighton shall be $26,000, and for purposes of § 459-c(1)(b), the following schedule is hereby adopted for the Town of Brighton for the 2007 real property tax roll:
