It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 18 years
to wander, loiter, stroll or play in or upon the public streets, highways,
roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, sidewalks, vacant lots, public
place or other place normally accessible to the general public for
public use, whether on foot, or in a vehicle or by any means between
the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent,
legal guardian, or other person exercising legal custody of such child.
Such prohibition shall not apply to such children under the age of
18 years who are en route by the most direct and accessible route
between their homes and authorized places of employment, authorized
school activities, authorized religious activities or when the minor
is on interstate travel through the City.
It shall be unlawful for any parent, legal guardian or other
person lawfully entitled to the care, custody, or control of any child
under the age of 18 years, to suffer, permit or allow any such child
to wander, loiter, stroll or play in or upon the public streets, highways,
roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, sidewalks, vacant lots, public
place or other place normally accessible to the general public for
public use, whether on foot, or in a vehicle or by any means between
the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent,
legal guardian or other person legally entitled to the care, custody
and control of such child. Such prohibition shall not apply to such
children under the age of 18 years who are en route by the most direct
and accessible route between their homes and authorized places of
employment, authorized school activities, authorized religious activities
or when the minor is on interstate travel through the City.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall,
upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than $50
nor more than $200 or by imprisonment not to exceed 10 days, or by
both fine and imprisonment.
