[Derived from Sec. 8-3 of the 1999 Code of the Township of Clinton]
The Township Council of the Township of Clinton ordains that the provisions of Subtitle 1, Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey be made applicable to the semipublic roads, streets, driveways and parking lots at Clinton Point Commuter Lot located in the Township of Clinton, County of Hunterdon, and the following regulations shall be enforceable.
A.
All vehicles must park only in designated areas and between the lines provided, and all vehicles shall be properly identified.
B.
Charter buses. Charter buses are prohibited from entering upon or using the Clinton Point Commuter Lot, and passengers utilizing such service(s) are prohibited from parking their vehicles in the lot for such purposes. Charter service is reserved for nonscheduled, nonrepetitive travel, and is thus incompatible with a regularly scheduled daily commuter service. A daily commuter parking lot was constructed and is operated at public expense. Chartered bus operations are defined in 40 CFR 1054.2 (Code of Federal Regulations).
Buses are prohibited from turning right onto Center Street when exiting the commuter lot.
All stalls shall be 12 feet wide as shown on the site plan and signed with R7-8 (Reserved Parking sign and penalty plate), in the designated parking areas for persons who have been issued handicapped parking permits by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
A.
The speed limits for both directions of traffic in the parking lots shall be 15 miles per hour.
B.
Regulatory and warning signs shall be erected and maintained to effect the above-designated speed limits authorized by the Department of Transportation.
Any vehicle parked or standing so as to obstruct or impede a normal flow of traffic, block entrances or exitways, loading zones, oil fills, any grass area, pedestrian walkway, or present in any way a safety or traffic hazard may be removed by towing the vehicle at the owner's or operator's expense.
All signs, posts, bolts, or other necessary materials shall be installed and paid for by the applicant. Work shall be checked by the Police Department to insure installations meet state and federal specifications, and all signing shall conform to the current Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of a violation of this article or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $500 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days or both.
