For the purposes of this article, the following definitions shall apply:
COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENT
Any and all business, mercantile office or other establishments where there is a sale, production and manufacturing of any goods, products or services within the Borough of Dumont, utilizing less than 25,000 square feet of floor space.
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING
Includes any and all structures where individuals reside, where there is an excess of two rental units.
All the provisions of Article II of this chapter shall apply to all commercial establishments and multiple-family dwellings.
The local enforcing agency established under Article II shall carry out periodic inspections of all commercial establishments and multiple-family dwellings and apply the Uniform Fire Code and other fire codes to the aforementioned facilities.
A. 
The operator of any commercial establishment or multiple-family dwelling shall obtain a permit from the enforcing agency established under Article II. Registration fees payable to the Dumont Fire Prevention Bureau shall be as follows:

(1) 
Commercial establishments with less than 2,000 square feet: $50.
(2) 
Commercial establishments with 2,001 to 5,000 square feet: $100.
(3) 
Commercial establishments with 5,001 to 10,000 square feet: $150.
(4) 
Commercial establishments with more than 10,000 square feet: $200.
(5) 
Multiple-family dwellings with up to three units on premises: $65.
(6) 
Multiple-family dwellings with four or more units on premises: $20 per unit.
B. 
The operators of any and all commercial establishments and multiple-family dwellings are required to provide any and all information requested by the enforcing agency and shall complete all forms established by said agency.

Any person who violates or fails to or refuses to comply with any of the provisions of this article shall be liable to a penalty of not less than $100, nor more than $2,000, in addition to imposition of any fees applicable under this chapter.
