GENERAL REFERENCES
Fire and ambulance intermunicipal assistance — See Ch. 45, Art. II.
The County of Gloucester ("County EMS") is hereby recognized as the organization providing basic life support, emergency medical, first aid, medical and vehicle rescue, and other associated services to the citizens of and visitors to the Township of Mantua ("Township").
A. 
The following shall constitute the jurisdictional boundaries for County EMS of and for the Township:
(1) 
All areas within the corporate boundary lines of the Township.
(2) 
Pursuant to any mutual aid agreements entered into pursuant to Chapter 45, Intermunicipal Assistance, Article II, Fire and Ambulance, of this Code.
B. 
The Township Committee reserves the right to alter jurisdictional boundaries based upon emergency medical needs.
The County EMS shall provide twenty-four-hour emergency basic life support, medical, first aid, medical and vehicle rescue, and other associated services to the residents of and visitors to the Township, and such service to other individuals pursuant to reciprocal agreements with municipalities within or without the County of Gloucester for intermunicipal fire and ambulance assistance and mutual aid or pursuant to any mutual aid agreements as may be in effect from time to time. These services shall be provided in accordance with the interlocal services agreement to be entered into by the County EMS with the Township, an original of which shall be maintained on file with the Township Clerk.
A. 
Training and equipment. The County EMS shall maintain training and equipment to minimum standards equal to or greater than the standards for medical personnel set forth, and as amended from time to time, by the following:
(1) 
New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services; and
(2) 
New Jersey Department of Transportation.
B. 
Standards. The County EMS shall comply with all NFPA, OSHA, and ISO standards, as required, with regard to apparatus, equipment and protective clothing.
The County EMS shall conduct a proper schedule of training to ensure that its members maintain the highest degree of medical response efficiency and proficiency. The Township Committee annually shall have the right to review the efficiency of County EMS so as to ensure that the Township is adequately protected against medical emergencies.
The County EMS shall be responsible to conduct its activities in accordance with the requirements of all applicable federal, state, county and local statutes, rules, laws, regulations, and ordinances.
The Township specifically reserves and retains the right to pursue all legal and equitable remedies in order to fully enforce the provisions of this chapter as they pertain to the health, safety and welfare of the people of the Township.
