The City of Rahway shall be divided into three
taxicab zones as follows:
A.
Zone 1. All of area enclosed by the following boundary
lines: Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of West Hazelwood
Avenue and St. Georges Avenue; thence
(1)
Running north from said intersection along the center
line of St. Georges Avenue to the intersection of the center line
of West Grand Avenue; thence
(2)
Running east along the center line of West Grand Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of East Grand Avenue; thence
(3)
Running east along the center line of East Grand Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of Lawrence Street; thence
(4)
Running south along the center line of Lawrence Street
to the intersection of the center line of State Highway Route No.
1; thence
(5)
Running south along the center line of State Highway
Route No. 1 to the intersection of the center line of East Hazelwood
Avenue; thence
(6)
Running west along the center line of East Hazelwood
Avenue to the intersection of the center line of West Hazelwood Avenue;
thence
(7)
Running west along the center line of West Hazelwood
Avenue to the intersection of the center line of St. Georges Avenue
and the point of beginning.
B.
Zone 2. All of the area enclosed between the outer
boundary of Zone 1, as previously described, and the following boundary
lines: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of St. Georges
Avenue and West Inman Avenue; thence
(1)
Running west along the center line of West Inman Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of Madison Avenue; thence
(2)
Running north along the center line of Madison Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of Westfield Avenue; thence
(3)
Running east along the center line of Westfield Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of St. Georges Avenue; thence
(4)
Running north along the center line of St. Georges
Avenue to the intersection of the center line of West Scott Avenue;
thence
(5)
Running east along the center line of West Scott Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of East Scott Avenue; thence
(6)
Running east along the center line of East Scott Avenue
to the intersection of the center line of State Highway Route No.
1; thence
(7)
Running south along the center line of State Highway
No. 1 to the intersection of the southerly city boundary; thence
(8)
Running west along said boundary to the intersection
of the center line of St. Georges Avenue; thence
(9)
Running north along the center line of St. Georges
Avenue to the intersection of the center line of West Inman Avenue
and the point of beginning.
C.
Zone 3. All of the remaining portion of the city enclosed
between the outer boundary of Zone 2 and the city boundaries.

No licensee or permittee shall charge any rate for transportation
of passengers which exceeds the following rates:
A card containing the maximum fares permitted in § 381-14 of this article, the license number of the vehicle and a map of the taxicab zones shall be affixed in a conspicuous place inside the passenger section of the taxicab. The size of the card and the type of print thereon shall be subject to the approval of the Police Chief. No person shall charge a fare in excess thereof.
All disputes as to fares shall be determined
by the officer in charge of the police station at the time of said
dispute. It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to pay the
legal fare under this chapter.
