§ 183-66 Truck exclusion on City streets; penalties for offenses.

[Added 4-6-2005; amended 2-7-2007][1]

All trucks, tractors and tractor-trailer combinations having a total gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds, and having no destination for the delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along any City street, but rather intending to drive upon any City street as a conduit or to access other locations within or without the City of Lockport, shall be prohibited.

Penalty provision. Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a violation within the meaning of § 55.10(3) and § 80.05(4) of the Penal Law of the State of New York, as from time to time amended, and shall be fined $250 for each conviction, and/or imprisoned for up to 15 days.

Exception. This section shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles as defined by § 101 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
