The purpose of this article is to grant a pro rata veterans exemption from County taxes to veterans meeting the requirements set forth in § 458, Subdivisions 1, 2 and 3, of the Real Property Tax Law.

Those veterans meeting the requirements of § 458, Subdivisions 1, 2 and 3, of the Real Property Tax Law shall be eligible to receive the pro rata veterans exemption from County taxes provided for in § 458, Subdivision 5, of the Real Property Tax Law.
This article shall apply to those towns situate in the County of Rockland which are presently at full-value assessment and to those towns situate in the County of Rockland which shall go to full-value assessment subsequent to the effective date of this article.
