A. 
Anyone issued a parking violation ticket from the Town of South Berwick will be assessed the following fine:
(1) 
Winter parking ban and all other improper parking charges not to include handicap parking:
(a) 
Fifty dollars per violation.
(b) 
If full payment is not received or postmarked within 14 calendar days from the date shown on the violation, the Town will send a letter to the violator and the imposed fine with increase to $75. If full payment is not received or postmarked within 30 calendar days from the date of violation, the Town will send a follow-up letter to the violator, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be notified, and the violation may be referred to the District Court for prosecution.
(2) 
Handicap parking violations:
(a) 
Two hundred dollars per violation.
(b) 
If full payment is not received or postmarked within 14 calendar days from the date shown on the violation, the Town will send a letter to the violator and the imposed fine will increase to $300. If full payment is not received or postmarked within 30 calendar days from the date of violation, the Town will send a follow-up letter to the violator, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be notified, and the violation may be referred to the District Court for prosecution.
B. 
If said fine is not paid within 30 calendar days of the violation, the violation may be referred to District Court for prosecution.

Members of the Police Department and Highway Department are hereby authorized to remove a vehicle at the owner's expense from a street, highway or municipal lot to the nearest garage or other place of safety under circumstances hereinafter enumerated:
A. 
Any vehicle left unattended upon any bridge when such vehicle constitutes an obstruction to traffic.
B. 
When a vehicle upon a highway is so disabled as to constitute an obstruction to traffic and the person or persons in charge of the vehicle are, by reason of physical injury, incapacitated to such an extent as to be unable to provide for its custody or removal.
C. 
When any vehicle is left unattended upon a street, highway or municipal lot and is so parked illegally as to constitute a violation of these ordinances.
D. 
When any vehicle receives four or more parking tickets within a three-hundred-sixty-five-day period, in accordance with § 130-33B hereof.
E. 
Tow zone. When a motor vehicle is parked in violation of the South Berwick Traffic Ordinance or parking ordinances, it may be towed by any duly authorized wrecker service. Towing will be under the supervision of the Chief of Police, Public Works Director or their designee. Towing will take place when there is at least one sign stating "Tow Zone No Parking" visible to vehicle operator. Within five days of tow, the Police Department shall send notice to the registered owner of such vehicle, by certified mail, stating the location, time, date and cost of such ordered tow. This notice shall include all requirements for said release of such vehicle.

No vehicle shall be parked at any time on a public way as to interfere with municipal snow removal or snow plowing. Any vehicle found by a police officer or reported by the Public Works Department during snow removal activities to be so parked shall be immediately towed any at the owner's expense.
No person shall ride a bicycle on the sidewalk in the business section, nor on any street on the sidewalk except in a prudent manner and at a reasonable rate of speed, yielding the right-of-way to pedestrians and giving audible signal of approach.
