Zoning — See Ch. 220.
For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
- GARAGE SALE
- Includes the terms "basement sale," "attic sale," "yard sale," "neighborhood sale," "flea market" and similar terms and shall mean the sale from any lot or parcel in the City on which a residence is located or which is residentially zoned of tangible personal property, whether new or used, advertised in such manner that the public-at-large is or can be made aware of such sale.
No garage sale shall exceed three days in duration.
Not more than two garage sales shall be held at any lot or premises between January 1 and December 31 of any calendar year.
No items offered for sale at any garage sale shall be displayed within the City street right-of-way or on any City street or sidewalk.
No garage sale shall be held less than four consecutive days subsequent to a previous garage sale at the same lot or premises.
No signs advertising or connected with any such garage sale will be posted on any utility pole or tree located within the City street right-of-way or in any manner so as to obstruct or impair vision or visibility of the vehicular traffic.
No signs advertising or connected with any such garage sale shall be posted in more than 48 hours advance of or following the conclusion of any such garage sale.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to:
Any person selling or advertising for sale an item or items of tangible personal property which item or items are specifically named or described in the advertisement and which separate items do not exceed five in number.
This chapter may be cited, pleaded and referred to as the "Garage Sale Ordinance of the City of Grand Ledge."
