Town of Johnston, RI Article VI Minimum Housing Inspector

§ 41-12 Position of Minimum Housing Inspector/Zoning Enforcement Officer created. [1]

Pursuant to Sec. 3-8(5) and 3-8(6) of the Charter and with the recommendation of the Personnel Board, the position of Minimum Housing Inspector is created.

§ 41-13 Appointment.

The Minimum Housing Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of a majority of the Town Council.

§ 41-14 Qualifications.

The Minimum Housing Inspector shall possess the education, qualifications and experience as specified in the position description attached hereto.[1] Equivalent job experience shall satisfy the position's qualifications requirement.

§ 41-15 Compensation and benefits.

The Inspector's position shall be that of a part-time position to be compensated with a salary per hour as provided by the Town Council by ordinance, not to exceed 19 hours per week, and will serve without fringe benefits.
