All Town departments that plan a public works project or construction in any of the districts in the Town of Johnston shall give seventy-two-hour verbal notification followed by 10 days' written notice prior to the beginning of construction to the Town Councilperson who represents that district. The notification shall also include a description of the work to be performed. This notification is required whether Town employees or a private contractor performs the project.
The same Town Councilpersons mentioned above shall also be notified of any private commercial or industrial development that will take place in his or her district within 30 days of receiving notice of intent of that enterprise to come to the Town of Johnston.
The requirements of this section do not apply to projects of an emergency nature. However, the Councilperson shall be notified by written notice within 10 days after the completion of the emergency work.
