The Town shall comply with the provisions of the Old Age Security Act of the state, R.I.G.L. § 36-7-1 et seq., and all provisions therein provided, and shall perform all administrative functions under direction of the Director of Public Aid in the carrying out of all the provisions of such Act.
The Town Treasurer shall make payments in accordance with the provisions of the Old Age Security Act of the state to such persons residing in the Town and in amounts which shall be determined by the chief of the Division of Old Age Security in the Department of Public Welfare of the state.
The payments required by this article shall be made not less frequently than once each month and at such times as the chief of the Division of Old Age Security may determine.
All money paid by the Town Treasurer in compliance with this article and the provisions of the Old Age Security Act of the state shall be paid out of the funds of the Town not otherwise appropriated.
