Except for dogs, no pets shall be allowed in
any Village park. Except in areas designated by the Village as dog
exercise areas, any person bringing a dog onto Village park property
must have the dog on a physical leash no longer than 10 feet. Only
service dogs are permitted in playground areas, tennis courts, pickleball
courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, occupied athletic fields,
occupied baseball diamonds, splash pads, park restrooms/changing facilities,
wheels parks, or ice rinks. A person bringing a dog onto park property
must pick up and dispose of dog waste properly. Bags, scoops, or other
appropriate implements for the removal of dog waste must be carried
by any person bringing a dog onto park property.

A. Park closing hours. All Village parks shall be closed
from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., except for public functions approved
by the Village Board or its designee. The Village Board or its designee
may approve events or activities within the parks beyond 10:00 p.m.
by private organizations or individuals if satisfactory evidence is
presented that the event or activities will be carried on so as not
to disturb the public peace and good order of the Village. In granting
such written approval, the Village Board or its designee shall designate
the area in which the function shall be carried on and shall indicate
the person responsible for the conduct of such function. No person
shall be in any Village park between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. except
in compliance with this subsection.
B. Emergency park closing and opening. The Chief of Police,
the Village Board or its designee will have full authority to open
and close any park, facility or area because of weather conditions,
physical conditions or when, in the interest of public safety, it
is deemed necessary.
Any person who violates any provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, §
1-19 of this Code.
