The fee for the license required by §
136-1 hereof shall be
as follows:
A. Nonprofit groups, charitable, civic, educational, religious
and fraternal organizations and other organizations exempt from federal taxation
by Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code as may be amended from time to
time; war veterans who are owners of hawking or peddling businesses and have
been residents of Connecticut for two years immediately preceding the date
of application for a license hereunder, provided satisfactory evidence thereof
is submitted; and individuals or groups of individuals exempt from fees by
authority of the Statutes of the State of Connecticut: no charge.
B. All other groups or individuals: $3 per day or $75 per
year.

After receipt of the results of the background check, along with written
approval of the owner of the location for which said license is requested,
if said location is private property, and any applicable food service license
issued by the Naugatuck Valley Health District, the City Clerk shall submit
the application to the Administration Committee which shall either recommend
approval or disapproval of the application and submit it to the Board of Aldermen,
which shall either:
A. Authorize the issuance of said license and identification
tags for each individual proposed to be so engaged, which tags shall indicate
the approval of the Chief of Police thereon (any such license issued pursuant
to this article shall contain the following language: “No person shall
sell or offer for sale upon a public street, sidewalk or other public place
any spray, string, stinkbomb or other similar devices.”); or
B. Deny the issuance of said license.
Any person, group of persons or corporations who shall violate any provision
of this article shall be fined not more than $50, and each individual instance
of violation shall be considered a separate violation.
