This chapter shall be known as the "Village of Lake George Business
Improvement Districts Law."
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake George finds that the creation
of Business Improvement Districts pursuant to Article 19-A of the General
Municipal Law affords the business community the opportunity for increased
business activity within the Village of Lake George, which increased business
activity inures not only directly to the business community but also indirectly
to the residents of the Village.
The Village of Lake George, pursuant to the authority set forth in § 980-b
of the General Municipal Law, hereby adopts the application of Article 19-A
of the General Municipal Law (Business Improvement Districts). The Village
of Lake George is hereby authorized to establish or extend business improvement
districts within the Village of Lake George.
