It is the intent of the Village of Lake George, as an exercise of its police power, to promote the general health, safety and welfare of the residents and inhabitants of the Village by enacting this chapter. It is the finding of the Village of Lake George Board of Trustees that the residents, inhabitants, and vacationers to the Village of Lake George enjoy free and unhampered pedestrian travel up and down the sidewalks of the Village of Lake George. It is the finding of the Village of Lake George Board of Trustees to keep pedestrian traffic open and unhampered as a health, safety and welfare benefit to its residents and inhabitants and a desired benefit by those who visit the Village. Therefore, it is the intent of the Village of Lake George to provide designated areas for street performers, on Village property, that do not interfere with pedestrian traffic. The Village of Lake George Board of Trustees has designated areas in Blais Park, Shepherds Park, the lower Montcalm concourse, and the Beach Road sidewalk abutments to accommodate a permitting scheme for street performers and entertainers.
