[Adopted 7-17-1956 by Ord. No. 163 (Ord. No. 36 of the 1966 Code)]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AUTHORITY
The Horsham Township Water and Sewer Authority of Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, as presently or hereinafter constituted.[1]
PERSON
Includes associations, partnerships, limited partnerships, joint stock companies and corporations.
SYSTEM
The water works, water supply works and water distribution system for Horsham Township and for such other territory as it may be authorized to serve.
TOWNSHIP
Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, or the duly constituted and elected municipal authority thereof.

No person shall open a connection into the water system of said Authority without permission of the Authority or its duly authorized representative.
No person shall do any of the following without permission of the Authority or its duly authorized representative:
A. 
Turn on the water after the same has been turned off by the Authority for repairs or any other cause or purpose.
B. 
Install any hydrants, piping, valves in addition to those originally installed and inspected and introduced into the system.
C. 
Willfully or maliciously do or cause to be done any act or acts whereby any building, construction, reservoir or works of said Authority or any water pipe, water valves, hydrants, meters, appurtenances or any matter or thing appertaining to the same shall be stopped or obstructed, injured or contaminated or destroyed.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction before a District Justice, be subject to a penalty of not less than $200 nor more than $500, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues may be regarded as a separate offense and punishable as such.
