As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
Includes but is not limited to malt or brewed beverages and liquor, as defined in the Pennsylvania Liquor Code (47 P.S. § 1-101 et seq.); also potable distilled spirits and ethyl alcohol and wine, being used in the broadest sense, irrespective of percentage of alcohol by volume.
No person in or on any public street, alley, sidewalk, walkway or property of Upper Providence Township, whether in or upon a vehicle or conveyance or as a pedestrian, shall drink, imbibe or ingest any alcoholic beverage.
No person in or on any public street, alley, sidewalk, walkway or property of Upper Providence Township, whether in or upon a vehicle or conveyance or as a pedestrian, shall carry or have control over any opened bottle or other container containing any alcoholic beverage.

Any person found guilty of violating this chapter or any portion thereof shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
