Owners shall maintain address numbers on all
buildings. The numbers on each building shall be the numbers assigned
by the Building Inspector. Before a new building is completed, the
owner shall obtain the assignment of numbers from the Building Inspector
and shall place such numbers on such buildings. All other numbers
shall be removed.
The numbers shall be so placed as to be in plain
view from the sidewalk, and the figures shall not be less than four
inches in height, with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch, and of
proper proportion. Said figures shall be Arabic numerals. The figures
shall be black on a white background or similar contrasting colors.
Numbers which are not equally as legible as the above shall be changed
to comply with these provisions.
In case the owner of property does not place
said numbers and remove all other numbers within five days after service
of notice to do so, the Building Inspector is hereby directed to do
so and to charge therefor a fee as set from time to time by resolution
of the Board of Trustees for placing each number and a fee as set
from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees for removing
each number, which sums shall be collected from the owner in the manner
prescribed by law.
