The Village of Carthage shall contain, on and after the effective date
of this section, in addition to the territory heretofore contained within
its boundaries, the following described territory: All that tract or parcel
of land situate in the Town of Wilna, County of Jefferson and State of New
York, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center
of Alexandria Street Road, said point being the most southwesterly corner
of a parcel of land containing 20.22 acres as conveyed by Arlie Jacobs to
James D. Whaling by deed dated September 25, 1958, in Liber 667 of Deeds,
at Page 212; running thence S 57° 00' E 179.75 feet to a corner thereof;
running thence S 68° W, 66 feet to a corner thereof; running thence S
57° 00' E 1110.97 feet to a corner thereof; running thence N 33°
E 770 feet to a corner thereof; running thence S 57° E 50 feet to a point,
running thence N 28° E 835 feet to a point; running thence 57° E 50
feet to a point; running thence N 27° E 700 feet to a point; running S
83° 30' E, 1190 feet to a point situate on the most westerly margin
of the Carthage-Fargo State Highway (Route 3); running thence along said westerly
margin N 18° E 800 feet to a point; running thence N 68° W 1770 feet
to a point; running thence S 27° W 800 feet to a point; running thence
N 63° W 600 feet to a point situate in said Alexandria Street Road; running
thence along said center in a southerly direction 700 feet to a point, the
most southeasterly corner of a parcel of land containing 2.48 acres as conveyed
to James D. Whaling by deed recorded in the said Clerk's office in Liber
867 of Deeds at Page 566; running thence N 53° W 200 feet to a corner
thereof; running thence S 35° W 550 feet to a corner thereof; running
thence S 53° E 200 feet to a corner thereof; a point situate in the center
of aforesaid Alexandria Street Road; running thence along said center thereof
in a southerly direction 1440 feet to the place of beginning containing 131.67
acres of land, being the same more or less. Being the same premises conveyed
to James D. Whaling by deed recorded in said Clerk's office in Liber
667 of Deeds, at Page 212, also deed conveyed to James D. Whaling by deed
recorded in said Clerk's office in Liber 867 of Deeds, at Page 566; also
by deed conveyed to Ann M. Whaling by deed recorded in said Clerk's office
in Liber 433 of Deeds at Page 95. Excepting that triangular portion which
is adjacent to parcel number 77.00-1-71, which parcel is in the Village of
Carthage and is known as tax parcel number 36.25-1-24. Presently known as
tax parcels 77.00-1-85.2, 77.00-1-71 and 77.00-1-50.
The territory described in § A149-11 of this Act is hereby annexed to the Village of Carthage pursuant to the provisions of § 714 of the General Municipal Law.
The territory described in § A149-11 of this Act and annexed to the Village of Carthage by this Act shall be included in Election District No. 1 of said Village.
The annexation of the above territory described in § 149-11
of this Act shall become effective immediately upon the filing of this statute
with the Secretary of State.
This Act shall take effect immediately.
