It is the intent of this article to prohibit the infringement
of any business in any established residential area and, in so doing,
to regulate the term and frequency of a personal property sale, such
as a garage sale, porch, basement or yard sale or other similar type
of sale, so as not to disturb or disrupt the residential environment
of the area.
A police officer or any other official designated by any Town
ordinance or by the Town Board to make inspections or to enforce the
same shall have the right of entry to any premises showing evidence
of a personal property sale, for the purpose of enforcement or inspection,
and he may close the premises from such a sale or arrest any person
who violates the provisions of this article.
Each violation of this article shall be punishable by a fine
of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days,
or both.
