It is the purpose of this chapter to authorize the issuance of appearance tickets by peace officers and public servants of the Town of Fenton, pursuant to the authority of Chapter 495, Laws of 1978, so as to enhance the efficient enforcement of all statutes, local laws, ordinances and rules and regulations relating to parking, licensing of occupations or businesses; fire prevention and safety; health and sanitation; and building, zoning and planning and the public health, safety and welfare.
A. 
A peace officer of the Town of Fenton who, by virtue of office, title or position, is authorized or required to enforce any statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation affecting the public health, safety and welfare, may issue and serve upon a person an appearance ticket when he has reasonable cause to believe that such person has committed a misdemeanor or has committed a petty offense in his presence.
B. 
A public servant of the Town of Fenton who, by virtue of office, title or position, is authorized or required to enforce any statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation relating to parking, licensing of occupations or businesses, fire prevention and safety, health and sanitation and building, zoning and planning may issue and serve upon a person an appearance ticket when he has reasonable cause to believe that such person has committed a misdemeanor or has committed a petty offense in his presence.
The form and content of appearance tickets and the procedures to be followed on the issuance of an appearance ticket shall be governed by the provisions of Article 150 of the Criminal Procedure Law.
