There is hereby created a Recreation Commission in the Town of Schodack
as authorized by the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, and the
Town Supervisor and Town Attorney are hereby authorized and directed to take
all acts necessary to implement this chapter in order to enable such Commission
to apply for and obtain funds available from the County of Rensselaer for
the use of such Recreation Commission.
The members of the present Schodack Youth and Recreation Committee shall
constitute the members of such Commission and an advisory committee to such
Commission until otherwise provided by the Town Board.
The Town Board is empowered to appoint a Chairman of such Commission
and to fix the terms of each of the members. The membership shall consist
of seven persons, and those persons presently on the Youth and Recreation
Committee not appointed to the Commission shall nevertheless be advisory members
to the Commission. The terms of office of the members of the Commission shall
be of the duration established by the Supervisor upon their appointment.
