[Adopted 10-13-1997 by Ord. No. 1997-8]
Each Supervisor of Elizabeth Township taking office by election or appointment
after November 1, 1997, shall receive compensation for attending duly advertised
meetings or executive sessions of the Board of Supervisors and performing
other duties as a member of the Board of Supervisors at the rate of $1,875
per annum.
No Supervisor shall receive annual compensation under this article in
excess of the annual statutory limit set by the General Assembly in Act 60
of 1995 for supervisors of second class townships within the appropriate population
category.
Members of the Board of Supervisors whose terms of office commenced
prior to November 1, 1997, shall receive compensation in accordance with Ordinance
No. 1995-2 of the township, enacted March 6, 1996, and Ordinance No. 5-85
of the township, enacted December 30, 1985, as applicable.
Compensation authorized herein shall be paid in equal quarterly or monthly
installments, as determined by the Board of Supervisors each fiscal year.
The salary to be paid each Supervisor pursuant to this article is considered
compensation for services rendered by the Supervisor for the duties imposed
by law on supervisors of second class townships. Should a Supervisor perform
services for the township while acting as a superintendent, roadmaster or
laborer, the Supervisor shall be entitled to such additional compensation
as is determined by the township auditors. However, no Supervisor shall receive
compensation as a superintendent or roadmaster for the time he or she spends
attending a meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
