As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING
A residence building accommodating two or more families,
living independently of each other and allowed to do their own cooking
on the premises.
Commercial buildings and multiple-family dwellings
shall install and maintain lighting fixtures that illuminate the following
exterior areas so that they are visible during all nighttime hours:

All lighting fixtures shall be designed, installed
and maintained so that the lighting does not extend beyond the property
lines.
All lighting fixtures required by this chapter
shall be in operation during all nighttime hours.
The lighting required by this chapter shall
be installed within 90 days of its effective date.
The owner of any building, structure or part
thereof or the owner of the land where any violation of this chapter
shall occur or shall exist shall be deemed to have committed a violation
pursuant to the Penal Code of the State of New York, punishable by
a fine not to exceed $250 or imprisonment for not more than 15 days,
or both such fine or imprisonment, in addition to any other remedies
available to the village pursuant to law. Each day that the violation
is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
