The Board hereby finds that it will further the public welfare if the
pool of individuals available to fill certain village offices and positions
were expanded to include persons outside the geographic boundaries of the
village to the maximum extent permitted under law.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
APPOINTED VILLAGE OFFICIAL
Any holder of a Village office, as defined in § 3-301 of
the Village Law of the State of New York, as well as any member of a village
commission or village board, provided that said person is appointed and not
elected to the village office, commission or board.
VILLAGE
The Village of Great Neck Plaza.

Notwithstanding any other provision of state or local law, ordinance
or special act, an appointed village official need not be a resident of the
village but must be a resident of Nassau County.
