No person in a public park or recreation area shall:
A. 
Willfully mark, deface, disfigure, injure, tamper with or displace or remove any item of park property, personal or real, or the appurtenances and facilities thereof.
B. 
Fail to cooperate in maintaining rest rooms and washrooms in a neat and sanitary condition.
C. 
Damage, cut, carve or remove any tree or injure the bark, or pick the flowers or seed of any tree or plant or in any way injure the natural beauty of the vegetation of the area.
D. 
Climb any tree or walk, stand or sit upon monuments, signs, planters, fountains, railings, fences or upon any other property not designated or customarily used for such purposes.
E. 
Hunt, harm, kill, trap or pursue any animal, wildlife, reptile or bird.
F. 
Throw, discharge or otherwise cause to be placed in the waters of any lake, pond, stream, fountain or other body of water any substance which shall result in pollution of said waters.
G. 
Bring, dump or leave any trash, garbage or waste materials in or upon any waters or grounds or dispose of the same other than in receptacles provided.
H. 
Drive any vehicle on any area except the park roads or parking areas. This includes all areas posted as No Parking, No Parking Beyond This Point, and No Parking This Side.

I. 
Ride a bicycle on any area except that designated for bicycle use and leave a bicycle in any place except on an area designated for the parking of bicycles.
J. 
Swim, bathe or wade in any waters except such waters as are provided and designated for such purpose.
K. 
Dress or undress in any other place than structures provided for such purpose.
L. 
Bring in or operate any boat, raft or other watercraft upon waters except those waters designated for boating.
M. 
Launch, dock or operate any boat of any kind during hours which are prohibited for boating.
N. 
Fish in any waters except in waters designated for fishing purposes.
O. 
Carry or possess firearms of any description or other weapon or instrument dangerous to wildlife or human safety.
P. 
Picnic or lunch in a place other than those designated for that purpose.
Q. 
Leave a picnic area without extinguishing all fires and carrying away all trash and garbage or disposing of the same in the receptacles provided.
R. 
Set up tents or any other temporary shelter for the purpose of overnight camping, or leave a tent, house trailer, camp trailer or the like overnight in any area of the park, except in accordance with a camping permit as hereinafter provided.
S. 
Ride a horse except on roads or areas designated for such purpose.
T. 
Engage in any dangerous games, activities or undertakings involving the throwing of objects or propelling of objects such as stones, arrows, javelins or similar objects inimical to human safety.
U. 
Leave children unattended. All children shall be under adult supervision.

All persons shall conduct themselves in an orderly manner while in the park or recreation area. No person shall:
A. 
No alcoholic beverages are permitted on parks or playgrounds in the Township of Greenwich. Violators shall be subject to penalties listed in § 500-6.

B. 
Possess, use or cause to be used fireworks or firecrackers or other explosive or flammable materials.
C. 
Permit the entry and running unrestrained of dogs or other domestic animals.
D. 
Solicit alms or contributions for any purpose, whether public or private.
E. 
Expose or offer for sale any article or thing except as authorized as a concession by proper authority.
F. 
Disturb or interfere with any person or party occupying any area or participating in any activity permitted therein.
G. 
Fail to observe posted notices with respect to regulations of the park area.

The park area shall be open to the public every day of the year during designated hours. The opening and closing hours for the park shall be posted therein for public information and shall be determined by the Township Council of the Township. Unless otherwise posted, hours of operation for all parks and playgrounds in the Township of Greenwich shall be from sunrise to sunset.
A. 
Permits for overnight camping or for special events in the park shall be obtained by application to the Township Council. A "special event" shall mean a group activity involving 10 or more persons.
B. 
The procedure for obtaining a permit shall be as follows:
(1) 
The person seeking the permit shall file a written application with the Township Council, stating:
(a) 
The name and address of the applicant.
(b) 
The name and address of the person or organization sponsoring the event or activity.
(c) 
The day and hours for which the permit is desired.
(d) 
The portion of the park for which the permit is desired.
(e) 
The nature of the activity desired and the number of persons to be involved in the activity.
C. 
Standards for issuance of a permit by the Township Council shall include the following:
(1) 
That the proposed activity or use of the park will not unreasonably interfere with or detract from enjoyment by the public of the park.
(2) 
That the proposed activity or use of the park will not entail extraordinary or burdensome police protection.
(3) 
That the proposed activity or use of the park will not involve conduct inimical to the public health, welfare or safety.
(4) 
In the case of an application for a permit for overnight camping, the campsite shall be under the supervision of an adult, and the permit shall contain the requirement that no campsite shall remain unoccupied during the night.
D. 
The holder of a permit shall be bound by all park rules and regulations and all applicable ordinances fully as though the same were inserted in the permit.
E. 
The Township Council shall have the authority to revoke a permit upon a finding of violation of any rule or ordinance or upon good cause shown.
The Township Council, park attendants hired by said Council and the Township Police Department shall enforce the provisions of this chapter. Any park attendant shall have the authority to eject from the park area any person or persons acting in violation of this chapter.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceeding $500, and, in default of payment thereof, may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, in the discretion of the Municipal Judge. Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to the obligation to replace, repair or restore any damaged park property.
